This is a clear/transparent coating that has a long lasting gloss finish, to be applied to previously painted surfaces. This coating is excellent for use on conservatory roofs, garages, offices, warehouse exterior surfaces and almost all other exterior surfaces.
It works in two ways, firstly it has unique ‘easy to clean’ properties, (it is self cleaning similar to the ‘lotus effect’ to be found in nature). The easy to clean coating can provide protection from acid and alkaline, it is water repellent and also resistant to solvents. It will make any surface it is applied extremely easy to clean by a simple wipe down.
The second way it works is by protecting the surface it is applied to, when it is used on aluminium components and other surfaces it can provide excellent protection from corrosion. It has excellent mechanical properties (withstands knocks and bumps and mechanical friction) and also has superior weather resistance.
The coating cannot be painted over with another type of paint, due to these properties.
How Does it Work?
On the surface that is being treated, apply a very thin coat. With the proper application the gloss effect will correct itself, not straight away but over a couple of days.
The surface that you are going to paint has to be free from dust, dirt, fat and oil. When used in industrial applications, like Aluminium, it needs to be clean with an alkaline cleaning agent. No priming is needed before
treatment.
It can be applied to surfaces that have already been coated with ordinary paints. It is best, that if you are applying it to plastics, like Acrylic Glass, to test it on an area that is not visible, to make sure that it is not solvent resistant, if it is then it would go a milky clouding.
The surface that is being treated needs to be above Dew Point. The high humidity, will not affect the coating in any way. With areas of corrosion on the surface, this should be removed before coating. It is a single component and needs to be applied without thinning down. You can apply it with a brush, roller or by sprayer. If using a sprayer this has to be followed with a ‘smoothing’ using a dry roller, a brush or a micro-fibre cloth.
Where to use?
There are many uses for the Easy-Clean Exterior Coating.
It can be used in Glass Fibre constructions, ABS, Hardwoods, Aluminium, Stainless Steel, Brass, Copper, Magnesium, Polymates and Ceramics/Porcelain.
Can also be used in some more areas for example:
• Marine – on deck surfaces, areas above the water line, and in areas that are in the wet/dry zone. A very hard and scratchproof protective layer.
• Could be applied to underwater areas of boats that are smooth surfaces, to be treated for the underwater areas of the hull, rubber blades and propeller.
• UV Radiation protection decreases the fade of GFK, Hardwoods, Stainless Steel
Other Areas include:
• Wooden buildings – wooden window frames, wooden sheds, garden fences, winter gardens
• Traffic Signs and advertising signs
• Protection for caravans and mobile homes, aluminium wheel rims, registrations plates of vehicles.
• Can be used in the air-conditioning unit to reduce the ‘Furring up’. Kitchen canopies and ventilation systems.
Benefits
• High-class weather resistance.
• Makes the surface it is applied to, ‘easy to clean’.
• Excellent for conservatory roofs, garages, warehouses etc.
• Protects the surface it is applied to, helps prevent corrosion.
• Long Lasting, scratch proof gloss.
• Water repellent and resistant to solvents.
