Thermilate XT-Coat

Thermilate XT-Coat is water based acrylic coating. And when it is applied it will reflect and dissipate heat, protects against driving rain and extreme weather conditions and offers long lasting protection. Thermilate™ XT utilises the very latest in ceramic micro-spheres technology originally developed by NASA for use on the space shuttle tiles.

This technology has now been adopted for use in the domestic and industrial environment. Research and development has led to the production of an excellent weather resistant coating, which is not only easy to apply to most structures but also capable of reducing the heat load on surfaces in extreme sunlight. Using a weather resistant coating on any building reduces damage to the structure from the harsh environment. Reducing the heat gain from the sun and heat loss within a building will reduce cooling and heating costs.

Where to Use

Thermilate XT Coat is applied to many types of surfaces including: walls and roofs, un-coated or new galvanized steel and aluminium sheet, masonry and previously painted surfaces like smooth stucco, concrete/cinder block, fibre cement panels. Pre-cast concrete poured in place concrete, metal storage tanks, fibre glass, and plastic water tanks.

  Application

Thermilate XT must be stirred thoroughly and applied as per instructions to achieve all its insulating qualities.

Application Equipment Brush, roller or airless spray system. Airless spray system.

Specs: Fluid Pressure: 3000psi; 3/8” spray hose line; reversible nozzle with tip size 0.019” - 0/026” spray gun with 3/8” hose swivel. Remove all filters.

Directions:

1. Make sure that drum or tin is free of any punctures or physical damages.

2. Using a slow speed drill machine with a paint mixing paddle attachment, mix the contents slowly for few seconds to obtain a uniform consistency, paying attention to sides and bottom of the container. If thinning is required the same should be done with water, not exceeding 625 ml per gallon. Have enough paint ready to complete an entire section. This practice is especially important with custom blended colours. Do not add other paints, solvents, etc into Thermilate XT.

3. Remove all filters if applied by an airless spray. Spray product onto substrate with an even coat throughout the surface. Allow 12 hours curing time before recoating. Curing time will be longer at high humidity or low temperatures. Touch up when required.

4. Clean brushes, rollers and other application tools in warm soapy water after use. Spray equipment should be given a final rinse with mineral spirits to prevent rusting.

5. When applying by brush or roller, ensure proper mixing frequently.

It is recommended to put 2 coats for better insulation.
